Our Committee are involved in delivering the Society’s aims. The Committee agree an annual action plan and discuss vital conservation projects in the area. Committee members consist of Chairmen of a sub-committee delivering a particular aspect of the organisation’s activity and others who manage the Society. All our Management Committee members are volunteers on a three-year foundation. We have many members who have stayed for many, many years! If you would like to explore how you can get involved, we would love to hear from you, drop an email info@hcps.online and we will invite you to our next meeting.

The Society’s Change Review

In order to keep members informed about a review of the society’s future needs I have reproduced below is a copy of an email to volunteers. You will see from the date of the second meeting that this has already taken place. There were about a dozen attendees who divided into three groups to discuss three topic, Heritage, Lovelace Bridges Trail and Communications. It is intended to hold individual group events to further these topics and report back an action plan for next year’s projects of which you will be informed via email, this magazine and explained at the Society’s 2023 AGM. Ed.

Dear HCPS member,

At the HCPS AGM on 24th May 2022, Roy Proctor, the Chairman, spoke of the real need for help from the members to support the work of the Society. It is only with your help that we can accomplish the projects which support the aims and objectives of the Society.

Following an open invitation to all HCPS members, we held our first Change Meeting on 28th June 2022. It was an extremely useful meeting where ideas and suggestions were exchanged and discussed. From that meeting there were some clear messages from the members to support the way forward.

We are continuing to revolve and renew this society and work together to make positive changes and conservation in the Horsleys. This project will be ongoing as we bring the society to new audiences and demographics as the village evolves.

Please get in touch if you would like to be involved in this most exciting process.
